Meet Kristi Guillory Reid
Attorney. Healthcare Policy Expert and Champion. Author. These are just a few words that can be used to describe the multi-faceted career journey of Kristi Guillory Reid.
Kristi is a bold visionary with more than 20 years of experience in the public policy and legal sectors. She has garnered experience in all three branches of government, the private sector, and nonprofit organizations. Her unique skill set and expertise includes policy research, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications. Kristi is known for her ability to help organizations clearly communicate their priorities to a variety of audiences and across a range of mediums.
Her career began as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF), where she worked on health policy in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. During her tenure as a PMF, she also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee and the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget. After her tenure as a PMF, she accepted a position at the Administration for Children and Families where she worked on policies to promote the economic and social well-being of children, families, and communities.
Kristi held additional senior and legal policy positions at national trade associations and patient advocacy organizations including, The Council of State Governments, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, and the Alzheimer’s Association. In these roles, she gained expertise in developing and managing federal and state policy and advocacy initiatives. Additionally, she is adept at developing practical strategies to bolster organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts and making DEI a strategic business priority.
A reading enthusiast with a passion for writing, Kristi is also the author of Harper Counts Her Blessings, a children's book that highlights the timeless importance of gratitude and thankfulness. Kristi’s writing has been published in several media outlets, including CNN.com, Washington Parent, The Washington Informer, and PIVOT Magazine.
Kristi earned a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University (New Orleans), a M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and a J.D. from Duke University. She holds a certification in Leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Northwestern University.
