Episode #133 Interview with William Moore, Certified Perinatal Educator

Meet William Moore

My guest in this POWERFUL episode is William Moore, who is a health educator for Ramsey County in Minnesota, and a certified perinatal educator.

William is one of the first of two men in the history of the state of Minnesota to become a certified Doula and Lactation Educator.

William has used his passion for this work to engage fathers in the community and make them a more integral part of the birth process, prenatal and postpartum.

William has earned honors such as the 2019 Sons of Bransford Mentorship award and recognized as a 2019 De Beaumont Foundation 40 under 40 honoree.

William believes all things, no matter how improbable, are made possible when you live by the idea of “doing all things with audacity and vision.”

As a Certified Doula & Lactation Educator

Expectant fathers get someone who can explain to them the birth process every step of the way without making them feel nonexistent and helping them find their voices and roles within this important part of life. As a Doula for fathers, men can expect someone who can be there for them to help them understand the mental, physical and emotional changes that they as men, as well as their significant others are experiencing. This helps them through those times with strategies for effective and adequate communication, so that they can be the most supportive for their expecting spouses! Full Doula and Lactation services are available for moms.

As a Health Educator

As a Health Educator for Saint-Paul Ramsey County Public Health, William works with the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) grant in all Ramsey County Public Schools. The primary focus is helping administer school health assessments, developing wellness teams, and also creating work plans to assess wellness goals as a tool to help develop wellness policies.
