Public Health Epidemiology Conversations Podcast

Episode #80 Interview with Haley Greene, Graduate Student Leader

In this episode, we are going to highlight the work of Haley Greene, one of our student leaders in the American Public Health Association (APHA) Epidemiology section. Haley is currently a graduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham working on her Masters of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology.

Haley completed a Cancer Research Student Experience (CaRES) internship where she analyzed and interpreted data using the National Health Interview Survey to gather information to create a cancer risk scale for U.S. and foreign-borne Hispanics regarding the five main cancer risk categories (screening, tobacco use, diet, physical activity, and vaccination).

She is also the Student Liaison Chair in the Epidemiology Section of the APHA. She is going to join us on this episode to describe her research experience, why she chose it, what she’s learned from it, as well as how she believes this will help her prepare for her future career in public health.
